Question 3

Using the ruler shown in the illustration,
what is the length of the wall on the drawing?

If the scale is 1:100,
what is the actual length of the wall?

Answer

On the drawing, the wall is 40mm
If the scale is 1:100
then length of wall = 40 x 100 = 4,000mm = 4 metres

Question 4

Using the ruler shown in the illustration,
what is the length of the window on the drawing?

If the scale is 1:50,
what is the actual length of the window?

Is that a big or a small window?

Answer

On the drawing, the window is 7mm
If the scale is 1:50
then length of window = 7 x 50 = 350mm
